From Le Mans : take A28 highway to Tours until motorway exit n°27 Château-Renault/Neuillé-Pont-Pierre. Continue on road D766 to Angers/Neuillé-Pont-Pierre. Continue on D938 then go to the right on D48. Motorway exit n°27 is at 10 minutes drive to La Mère Hamard.  

From Orléans : take A10 highway in the direction of Bordeaux then take A28 in the direction of Le Mans to motorway exit n°27 Neuillé-Pont-Pierre. Take road D766, then D938. Go to the right on D48 and enter in Semblancay. Take to the right on road Louis Jerôme Gohier. 

From Tours : take road N138 in the direction of Le Mans/Angers/La-Membrolle-sur-Choisille. At the roundabout, take road D938. Then take on the left road D228. Into Semblancay, continue on D48 / road Louis Jerôme Gohier. 

By train SNCF Station from Tours at 22 minutes from hostel

What could you do around La Mère Hamard ?

The establishment La Mère Hamard is located a few kilometers to the north of Tours, at the heart of Loire Valley, classified by UNESCO as part of a World Heritage Site. 

In the heart of the Loire Castles 

The Loire most beautiful castles are less than an hour from La Mère Hamard. Among them, the Langeais is the nearest one where you can visit dungeon, round road and medieval yard.
Discover also Villandry’s castle known for its gardens spread over three levels, but also Azay-le-Rideau and the Castle of L'Islette having sheltered the loves of Rodin and Camille Claudel. At the Loire’s edge, Amboise, a superb royal residence under the reign of François I, is also a must-see site. Not to mention the Château de Chambord, a real jewel on the banks of the Loire, with its many towers and turrets.
A little further, follow the river and take the time to get to Cheverny, Blois , Chenonceau or Ussé and Chinon.

Visit Tours

In the heart of Touraine, discover Tours, located just 10 km south of Semblançay. The Châteaux de la Loire’s capital has many museums and monuments to visit. Visit Tours Saint Martin’s Basilica, the Museum of Fine Arts in Tours or the Compagnonnage Museum, discover Saint Gatien Cathedral, Tours’s Castle, stroll through Place Plumereau and the Vieux-Tours quarter. Enjoy the Halles de Tours and its market on Wednesday and Saturday morning.
